The worst time to apply for a job as a pharmacist

Pharmacists often ask when is the worst time applying for a job at the pharmacy. Let me first share the best times to apply, then the worst time to talk.

The best time to apply for a job is usually when companies are willing to hire and make decisions. When is it? Mid to late spring is a good time. Moreover, traditionally, is the movement of making employment decisions before existing budgets will close at the end of a fiscal year. In late December and late September are the most common year-end dates of business.

Pharmacies sometimes contract because near the end of its fiscal year, and left the money in their budget they need to spend or lose. Recruitment can be collected several months earlier, as companies have a sense of the rest of the budget for the year.

Even if companies are willing to spend, it is expected that the process takes longer during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas at the end of the year. Hiring managers and pharmacy directors may be out of the Office during this period and not so willing to make decisions.

During the past year and a half, many pharmacies (large and small) were carried out in its recruitment of money because of an uncertain economy. The delays that traditionally suffer increased recruitment has been slow to commit months of last year. Some pharmacies run out of money quickly, but were concerned about the uncertainty of the future.

Fortunately, we have noticed more companies are feeling a little more lively, with what we value and are ready to go ahead and spend those dollars in recruitment. Objective to read my article on how the recent pharmaceutical market, if not already done so. This does not mean you can expect to be hired as before.

For jobs that do not require much experience, the summer months can be the worst time to implement, because the new pharmacy graduates flooding the market, so you will have more competition than usual for these positions. For jobs of clinicians, specialists can be expected to implement the new residents of the pharmacy as well. This may or may not be a disadvantage, depending on level of experience to make and where you are interested in going.

Late summer is traditionally a slower period of time when you agree to occur.

The summer months can be a good opportunity for temporary, because the permanent employees go on vacation during this period. Of course, if you are willing to let anyone is willing to go, IE: the dead of winter in Alaska, which has a variety of options (especially if you are flexible and experienced in different types of practice settings).

The reality is that usually some type of pharmaceutical procurement in the country. Even when he is the worst time to implement, as they prepare with their job search strategy (most have no idea what is the drug)
